IC697BEM764 is a VME DLAN Interface Module that allows high-performance interface between GE Drive Systems DLAN and DLAN+, LAN protocols, and Series 90-70 PLC systems. IC697BEM764 is a member of the series 90-70 designed by GE Fanuc.  The IC697BEM764 module authorizes DC300, AC2000, and DC2000 drives to be controlled from Series 90-70 PLC application programs.


The IC697BEM764 presents full-functions that are easy to install and configure. It also provides advanced programming features and is designed for compatibility with other PLCs in the series 90-70. The IC697BEM764 module is designed to support industry standard VME boards. The IC697BEM764 is a single-slot module. However, modules are available for both standard Series 90-70 racks and VME racks. All standard 90-70 racks are physically identical, whether used as a CPU rack or as an expansion rack. VME Integrator racks are applicable in third party VME modules.


Other notable features of the IC697BEM764 module include a 12 MHz, 80C186 microprocessor, a restart pushbutton, three status LEDs, soft configuration with no required jumpers or dip switches, and a DLAN network connector.


The IC697BEM764 module can operate either as a DLAN OR a DLAN+ controller. DLAN is a multi-drop serial protocol, and DLAN+ is a high speed protocol based on Arcnet. Since IC697BEM764 is a single module interface, it cannot function both as a DLAN and a DLAN+ controller simultaneously. If the application requires both DLAN and DLAN+, the user is must use two DLAN or VME DLAN Interface modules.
