Product Description

IC697BEM763 is a high-performance interface module for the 90-70 series designed by GE Fanuc.
This part provides automation between series 90-70 PLC systems and GE Drive Systems DLAN / DLAN+ LAN protocols. The IC697BEM763 module allows drives such as AC2000, DC300, and DC2000 to be controlled from series 90-70 programs. The GE Drive system only communicates using DLAN or DLAN+ local area network protocols.

The IC697BEM763 module operates either as a DLAN or DLAN+ controller. It is important to note that a single module cannot be both a DLAN and DLAN+ controller at the same time. In a situation where the application requires both DLAN and DLAN+ devices, two DLAN Interface modules must be used. In a single rack system, the IC697BEM763 module resides in the same rack as the PLC processor. In a multiple rack system, the IC697BEM763 module can reside either in the central processing unit rack or in the expansion racks.

During installation, the CPU power supply unit and the IC697BEM763 module must reside in designated slots within each rack. The CPU module must reside in slot 1 of rack 0. When the IC697BEM763 module system includes a BTM, it can be allocated in any slot as long as it is not on the right side of an empty slot. If the PLC system has more than one rack, the IC697BEM763 module must be located in slot 1 of each expansion slot. Note: IC697BEM763A must be installed on the right side of all the other GE Fanuc modules. There can be no empty slots between the IC697BEM763A and the CPU module.

IC697BEM763 modules can be placed in any unused slot in the appropriate rack. However, all of the slots between the IC697BEM763 module and the PLC CPU must be occupied. If any of these slots are empty, the IC697BEM763 module cannot communicate across the backplane to the PLC CPU.
