Product Description

IC697ACC721 is a rack fan assembly used in the GE Series 90-30 modules. The rack fan assembly is optional for installation in the bottom rack for additional cooling. This is if forced air cooling is needed when a number of VME high power modules are used in the rack when heat build-up can be a problem. The IC697ACC721 fan assembly consists of three parallel wired fans with a low noise level made possible by the use of ball bearings. Additionally, this extends the life of the fans. If the user is viewing the fans from the front, the fan on the left has a three ft. cable that can be wired to the AC power source. The remaining two fans are then connected through a cable or connector assembly to the first fan. It is recommended that the fans be wired to the same power source as the PLC (IC697) so the fans have power whether or not the PLC has power and is in use.

The position of the rack fan assembly is such that the bottom of the mounted rack has the air flow moving from the bottom up toward the rack itself. IC697ACC721 is set for 120 VAC and, as mentioned, is optional. However, those units that may experience high heat output would be best served by the use of such a rack fan assembly. Please note that racks used in severe vibration environments can be purchased and include heavy duty side mount plates for added protection.
