The IC697ACC702 is a GE I/O Bus Terminator Plug specific to the GE Fanuc Series 90-70. This bus terminator plug is typically supplied with each bus receiver module and is only required in the last bus receiver module in the chain. If the bus expansion module is not at the end of the chain, the terminator plug may be saved as extra or discarded depending on user preference. If the bus receiver module is at the end of the chain, then the terminator plug is required for the unit.
The terminator plug should be installed in the lower expansion port labeled as Expansion Port Out. The plug can then be attached with the included screws. In a standard PLC system, this is accomplished by installing the resistor pack that is located inside of a terminator plug. In a hot standby CPU redundancy system, a special I/O cable is required. This has a built-in termination system. The manufacturer does recommend the use of a resistor plug with the terminated cable.
When installing the IC697ACC702, the user must make sure the power to the unit is OFF and proper guidelines are followed per the manual. This particular I/O bus terminator plug is compatible with the GE Series 90-30 module and is required for each local expansion pack. The middle LED indicates the presence of a terminator plug on compatible models. Both conformal coat and low temperature testing options are available by special order.
