Product Description

The GE Fanuc IC693PWR322 is a 24/48 VDC standard power supply. The standard unit, which does not include a battery, is designed to work off a nominal input of 12V DC or 48V DC and has a 30 watt output. This unit can be mounted in a standard power supply slot through any IC693 PLC baseplate. Although it is capable of maintaining all outputs (within specifications) with input voltages as low as 18VDC, it will not start with initial input voltages of less than 21 VDC. This power supply provides three separate outputs. These are +5VDC,  +24VDC relay output for powering circuits on any IC693 relay output module and +24VDC Isolated power for Input modules.

When using this power supply, users can calculate the power requirements specific to their application. To do this, you first need to determine the total output load by checking the specs listed in the IC693 PLC Installation and Hardware Manual. This will show the specifications for individual modules. The total output load should be multiplied by 1.5 to determine input power value. To calculate the input current requirement, divide the input power by the operating source voltage. As the operating source voltage may vary, you should use the lowest measured or estimated input voltage to determine the maximum input current. Operators who are making this calculation should also allow for start-up surge current requirements and allow a margin of 10-20% for variation.

The GE Fanuc IC693PWR322 Standard Power Supply is a 12/48 Volts DC rated standard power supply from the GE Series 90-30 standard power supply family. The GE Series 90-30 standard power supplies do not come with a built-in battery, and unlike the AC supplies, the IC693PWR322 Power Supply is built for a nominal input rating of 24 Volts DC or 48 Volts DC. The IC693PWR322 Power Supply is installed in a slot that is reserved for a standard power supply on any Series 90-30 PLC baseplate. The IC693PWR322 Standard Power Supply has an input voltage range of 18 to 56 Volts DC, and even though it is capable of maintaining every output level at the lowest possible input value of 18 Volts DC, it will not start with any initial input voltage less than 21 Volts DC. Like the GE high-capacity power supplies, the IC693PWR322 Power Supply comes with 3 separate output voltage ratings, which are the standard +5 Volts DC output voltage, the 24 Volts DC isolated output voltage, and the 24 Volts DC relay output voltage. The 24 Volts DC relay output provides power to all Series 90-30 relay output module circuits.

The GE Fanuc Series 90-30 IC693PWR322 Standard Power Supply’s 24 Volts DC isolated output is used internally by some IC693 I/O modules, and it can also be used to provide external power to 24 Volts DC rated input modules. The IC693PWR322 Power Supply features built-in current limiting functions that automatically shut down the power supply in the event of a direct short fault to protect the internal components from damage. It also features an auto-ranging capability that completely eliminates the need for jumpers for assigning the incoming power levels. The IC693PWR322 Power Supply has an inrush current rating of 4 Amps and a minimum hold-up time of 14 milliseconds.

Customer Questions and Answers

  • Question:  What is an IC693PWR322?  Answer:  The IC693PWR322 is a Standard Power Supply. This module is a 30 watt output supply designed for 24 VDC or 48 VDC nominal inputs. It will accept an input voltage range from 18 VDC to 56 VDC. Although it is capable of maintaining all outputs (within specifications) with input voltages as low as 18VDC, it will not start with initial input voltages of less than 21 VDC. The specifications for this product are on IC693PWR322's website page.
  • Question:  How many outputs does this power supply provide?   Answer:  The IC693PWR322 provides 3 outputs.
  • Question:  What are those outputs?   Answer:
    • +5 VDC output
    • +24 VDC "Relay" power output, which provides power to circuits on Series 90-30 Output Relay modules.
    • "Isolated" +24 VDC, which is used internally by some modules and can also be used to provide external power for 24 VDC Input modules.
  • Question:  What is the load capacity for IC693PWR322?   Answer:  30 watts
  • Question:  What is the input for IC693PWR322?   Answer:  24 or 48 VDC
  • Question:  Where should the power supplies be installed?   Answer:  Power supplies must be installed in the leftmost slot in all baseplates.
  • Question:  What does it mean when the OK light is green?   Answer:  It is referring to the CPU. If the OK light is green it means that the CPU has reported back that it is in a fully functional mode.
  • Question:  How can I tell if my IC693PWR322 is not working?   Answer:  If your PWR or OK light is not on, if the power supply is excessively loud, if the PS PORT is not blinking, or if your RUN light does not come on when you have the module running then your product may need repair.
