Product Description

The IC693MDL340 is a 120 volt, 0.5 Amp AC Output Module of the Series 90-30 manufactured by GE Fanuc. It provides 16 output points in two isolated groups with eight points in each. Each of these groups has a separate common associated with it (the two commons are not integrated inside the IC693MDL340), allowing each group to be used with independent AC supply phases. Alternatively, it is also possible to power both commons with the same supply. Each group has a 3-ampere fuse for protection, as well as an RC snubber for each output to guard them against transient electrical noise from the power line. This module also has an output voltage range of 85 to 132 volts AC, 50/60 Hz, and an output current of 0.5 amperes maximum per point. The maximum per group is 3 amps.

IC693MDL340 provides a high-degree of inrush current, making its outputs advisable for controlling a great variety of loads, both inductive and incandescent. The user must provide an AC Power supply to operate the loads connected to outputs. This module can only function on an AC power source. IC693MDL340 has LED signaling lights at the top, designed to represent the ON/OFF status for each point. Additionally, it also has two horizontal lines with another eight green LEDs each, and one final LED at the center between the two lines. The eight LEDs at the top, which are identified as A1 to 8, indicate output status. The red “F” LED turns on to signal a blown fuse. Unless there is a load connected to the blown fuse, the LED will not function.

IC693MDL340 features an insert that separates its hinged door’s external and internal surface. Once this door is closed, circuit wiring information is shown the inside surface of the module, and circuit identification information can be found on the outside surface. The external left edge of the insert is colored red to indicate a high-voltage module. IC693MDL340 module can be installed in any I/O slot of a 5 or 10-slot baseplate in a Series 90-30 PLC system. IC693MDL340 has a response time of 1 ms maximum when ON and a maximum off response time of ½ cycle. It has a power consumption of 315 mA (when all outputs are on) from 5 voltages bus on backplane.

The GE Fanuc IC693MDL340 16-Point Discrete Output Module is a 16-point AC output module designed for the GE Series 90-30 control systems. This module provides 16 output channels in 2 isolated groups of 8 output channels each with a separate common point for each output group. The 2 commons are not connected within the module, thus allowing each output group to be used with different AC supply phases, while at the same time allowing both commons to be powered by the same power supply. Each of the IC693MDL340 Output Module’s output groups is protected by a 3-Amp built-in fuse, and there is an embedded RC snubber within each output circuit that protects it against transient electrical noise from the power line.

The IC693MDL340 Output Module offers a high inrush rating that makes it suitable for controlling a wide range of inductive and incandescent loads. The IC693MDL340 Output Module requires a user-supplied AC power source to operate any load connected to its output circuit. The IC693MDL340 Output Module has a nominal output voltage rating of 120 Volts AC and an operating voltage range of 85 to 132 Volts AC at 50/60 Hertz. It has a maximum output current rating of 0.5 Amps per point (3.0 Amps per group) and a maximum inrush rating of 20.0 Amps per cycle. The IC693MDL340 Output Module has 315 milliamps of maximum backplane draw at 5 Volts DC bus voltage and a maximum signal response time of 1 millisecond (on). The IC693MDL340 Output Module has up to 500 Volts of isolation between output groups and 1500 Volts of isolation between the field side and logic side. The IC693MDL340 Output Module has 16 individually-numbered LEDs on the front-panel for indicating the “on” or “off” status of the output points.

IC693MDL340 - Replacing The Fuse When "F" Fuse LED is "ON"

Description

120 V ac output - 0.5 Amp, 16 Point - IC693MDL340 - Replace fuses when "F" Fuse LED is "ON"

Resolution

The 120 V, 0.5 A ac output module provides 16 output points in two isolated groups with eight points in each group. Each group has a separate common associated with it (two commons are not tied together inside the module). This allows each group to be used on different phases of ac supply or they can be powered from the same supply. Each group is protected with a 3 A fuse, and a RC snubber is provided for each output to protect against transient electrical noise on the power line. This module provides a high-degree of inrush current which makes the outputs suitable for controlling a wide range of inductive and incandescent loads. AC Power to operate loads connected to outputs must be supplied by the user. This module requires an AC power source. LED indicators which provide the ON/OFF status of each point are located at the top of the module. There are two horizontal rows with eight green LEDs in each row and a red LED centered between and to the right of the two rows. This module uses the two rows of green LEDs, labeled A1 through 8 and B1 through 8 for output status. The red LED (labeled F) is a blown fuse indicator that turns ON if either of the fuses should blow. A load must be connected to the blown fuse for the indicator to light. An insert goes between the inside and outside surface of the hinged door. The surface towards the inside of the module (when the hinged door is closed) has circuit wiring information, and circuit identification information can be recorded on the outside surface. The outside left edge of the insert is color-coded red to indicate a high-voltage module. This module can be installed in any I/O slot of a 5 or 10-slot baseplate in a Series 90-30 PLC system.

Refer to the attached picture for the location of the fuses on the circuit board. Access the fuses after removing the plastic cover by opening the transparent front face. The front transparent cover over the front LEDs. Remove the terminal strip 2 clips on the right side and the one under.
