Product Description

The GE Fanuc IC693MDL260 is a 120VAC Grouped Input module. It provides 32 discrete input points, which are arranged in four separate groups of eight points each. Between each group, isolation is provided. However, all inputs share a single common connection. This module is for the Series 90-30 PLC system.  Users can install the grouped input module in any I/O slot.  Users can also implement this component several different styles of terminal block such as box-style or spring-style. When users are doing field-wiring to AC devices, they will need extra shroud depth. By using extended terminal blocks, they can get achieve that easily.

When the MDL260 is installed in a 90-30 PLC system, the user can control the input filter times by operating the DIP switch. This switch is on the back of the module. The LED block on top of the module indicates the ON/OFF status of all 32 points. They are numbered respectively, corresponding to points 1 through 32. There is also an LED marked TB, which indicates when the removable terminal block is locked in place. If the LED is red, the block is not locked in. In this instance, the module will send a status message to an RX3i CPU. However, this message will not be sent if the module is being used with a Series 90-30 CPU. As there are red bands on the door card of this module, the user can easily tell that the MDL260 is a high-voltage unit.

IC693MDL260 System Configuration Mismatch

Description

Issues with the IC693MDL260 or IC694MDL260 modules, such as system configuration mismatch errors, or the inability to read the inputs, are often caused by the DIP switch settings on the back of the module.

Resolution

The DIP switch settings must match the software configuration settings for the Hardware. If Input Filters are enabled, move both DIP switches to the right. Some manuals may show that the bottom switch is Not Used; however, it may need to be put to the right to avoid issues.

Customer Questions and Answers

  • Question:  What is an IC693MDL260?  Answer:  The IC693MDL260 is a 120VAC Grouped Input module. This module provides 32 discrete input points. The inputs are arranged in four isolated groups of eight. Isolation is provided between the four groups of inputs, however all inputs within a group are referenced to the same user common connection.
  • Question:  What does a DIP switch do for this module?  Answer:  It can be used to control the ability to change input filter times.
  • Question:  With what Terminal Blocks can the IC693MDL260 be used?  Answer:  The IC693MDL260 can be used with a Box-style (IC694TBB032), Extended Box-style (IC694TBB132), Spring-style (IC694TBS032), or Extended Spring-style (IC694TBS132) Terminal Block.
  • Question:  What do Extended terminal blocks do?  Answer:  They provide the extra shroud depth typically needed for field wiring to AC devices.
  • Question:  What does the TB LED green light mean?  Answer:  It means that the module's removable terminal block is locked in place.
  • Question:  What does the TB LED red light mean?  Answer:  It means that the module's terminal block is not locked in place.
  • Question:  Into what can the IC693MDL260 be installed?  Answer:  The IC693260 can be installed in any I/O slot in a Series 90-30 PLC or PACSystems RX3i system.
  • Question:  What should I do if my module is not working?  Answer:  If your IC693MDL260 is not working, then your product may be in need of repair
