Product Description

The GE Fanuc IC693CPU363 is a Module of GE Fanuc series 90-30 PLC systems. It connects to one of the CPU slots on a baseplate. This CPU is of type 80386X and has a speed of 25Mz. It gives the baseplate the ability to connect to up to seven remote or expansion baseplates. The power required for it to work is +5VDC and 890mA current. It has a battery to back up a clock and can be overridden. When it operates, its temperature can vary from 0 to 60 degrees in ambient mode.

GE Fanuc IC693CPU363 module has three ports. The first port supports SNP or SNPX slave on the power connector. The two other ports support SNP or SNPX master and slave, and RTU slave. It is also compatible with RTU master and CCM Modules. To support RTU master, a PCM module is needed. Connectivity is also provided by a LAN port that supports FIP, Profibus, GBC, GCM, and GCM+ modules. It also supports multidrop.

The total user memory of the GE Fanuc IC693CPU363 module is 240 kilobytes and the typical scan rate of 1 kilobyte of logic is 0.22 milliseconds. It has 2048 input (%I) and 2048 output (%Q) points. The discrete global memory (%G) of the CPU is 1280 bits. Internal Coils (%M) take a space of 4096 bits and Output or temporary Coils (%T) deploy 256 bits. System Status Referenced (%S) use 128 bits.

The Register Memory (%R) can be configured with either Logicmaster or Control v2.2. Logicmaster configures the GE Fanuc IC693CPU363 Module memory in 128 word increments up to 16,384 words. Control v2.2 can do the same configuration deploying up to 32,640 words. Analog inputs (%AI) and outputs (%Q) can be configured exactly like the Register Memory using the same programs. GE Fanuc IC693CPU363 has system registers that consist of 28 words.

The GE Fanuc IC693CPU363 CPU module is manufactured as a member of the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 product line. It has a 25-Megahertz processor speed and 2 serial ports. This CPU module supports the use of the 80386EX microprocessor, which offers all the fundamental functions and sweep control options, and it also helps to execute the non-Boolean functions. It comes with a user memory capacity of 240 KB, 2048 discrete inputs, and 2048 discrete outputs. The IC693CPU363 CPU module features a discrete global memory with a rating of 1280 bits, while the internal coils have a rating of 4096 bits. This module has 128 bits that are used for the reference of different statuses, with 256 bits of output or temporary coils. It has analog inputs, analog outputs, and a register memory capacity ranging between 128 and 32640 words with the control version, and a range of 128 to 16384 words with the Logicmaster. The system registers of this CPU module are allocated with 28 words.

The GE Fanuc Series 90-30 IC693CPU363 CPU module comes with 3 built-in serial ports which are accessible through the power supply connector, and it also supports the use of the SNP and SNPX slave protocols.  There is a 15-pin D-type female connector through which the serial port can be accessed, and it is located on the right front side of the power supply module. The serial port is used for the connection of the PC which runs the GE Fanuc hand-held monitor programming software. The IC693CPU363 CPU module can also be used with the optional Profibus and Ethernet communication modules. This CPU module supports the use of the periodic subroutine functionality. It meets the CE and cUL standards.

Customer Questions and Answers

  • Question:  What is an IC693CPU363?  Answer:  The IC693CPU363 is a single-slot Central Processing Unit (from the GE Fanuc Series 90-30) with 2 built-in serial ports. This unit is the "brains" of the PLC and is where most of the calculations take place.
  • Question:  What's the first thing you should do when testing your IC693CPU363?  Answer:  When you attach the IC693CPU363 to a 5 or 10 slot rack and power it up, you should be checking for an OK light.
  • Question:  What if I do not have an OK light after I have powered it up?  Answer:  If you don't have an OK light, then you won't be able to follow through with the test. The lack of an OK light indicates, right from the start, there is something wrong with your IC693CPU363.
  • Question:  What is this initial test showing?  Answer:  You're basically turning on the configuration and logic in this processor in order to set it to run mode. You want to see that this is a good working processor.
  • Question:  With what software should I test my IC693CPU363?  Answer:  You can test your IC693CPU363 with Proficy Machine Edition.
  • Question:  What will I need to test my IC693CPU363?  Answer:  All you will need is your IC693CPU363, a 5 or 10 slot rack, and a power supply.
  • Question:  If I think there is a problem with my processor, what should I do?  Answer:  You should, first, make sure that when you turn on the memory on/off protection switch, the RUN light comes on and then let the processor run overnight (or even 2-3 days). This is to check that it's able to sustain itself in run mode. (You want to make sure it doesn't fail or fall out of run mode for any reason.) If it does fail or fall out of run mode, then you can try reading the faults or errors through the Proficy Machine Edition software. It may give you enough information to help you fix the problem.
  • Question:  If I can't figure out how to fix my IC693CPU363, what is my next step?  Answer:  PDF Supply can repair your IC693CPU363 for you.
  • Question:  Things you should also be testing:  Answer:  You should make sure that both ports are working by plugging into them and making sure the LED lights come on when you do plug into them.
