The GE Fanuc IC693CBL331 is a faceplate connector with a 24-pin I/O interface used for connecting terminal block. These 24-pin connectors are aligned at a right angle in the front end of the PLC which results in the reduction of clearance space required by this module. This system has identical connectors except for cable length and connector orientation. The IC693CBL331 finds its application in 32-point module as well as in 16-point modules. The 32-point module has dual 24-pin connectors. The IC693CBL331 cable is used in its right end when viewed from its front and interfaces with the input or output circuit groups. The 16-point modules are provided with a TBQC faceplate adaptor where this module is used for circuit connections.

The IC693CBL331 adds additional 2-inch depth, which is compensated by the depth of cabinet in which the PLC is being mounted. Each conductor used in the IC693CBL331 have 1.2 A of current rating. If the field devices are present in the system which requires a current rating of greater than 1.2A, then the TBQC assembly is not prescribed. In those conditions, the terminal board with the specified standard should be used. If the 16-point module of the higher current rating is used with this module, then the conductor with lower current rating must be used at maximum load conditions. These cables must be wired one pin to another pin and cable should be of a 3m length in which the connector aligned at a right angle is at one end, and the stripped leads should be at the other end.
