The GE Fanuc IC693BEM335 is an interface module for 90-30 series PLC system. It performs its function through the Ethernet network. At an operating frequency of 2.5 MHz, it works as an I/O FIP remote module. The IC693BEM335 has LEDs in its front end. These LEDs indicate the operating status of GBC and other communication-related activities. They are kept on during the operation of this module. The ok signal indicates the status of genius bus controller and the COM signal indicates the status regarding the communication bus. Blinking LEDs indicate the possibility of any bus error occurring between the several operations going on. The LED turns off whenever the bus fails or if the PLC or CPU fails to send the configuration signal.
The IC693BEM335 supports multiple devices including generic devices and remote drops. The devices then connect to the FIP bus. The FIP bus helps send the reports of the faults encountered by this module and stores the data that needs to be configured. It primarily controls the I/O operations. With the help of the nine pin connectors, two FIP buses are attached to this module. Using two buses increases the bus capacity. A computer connected to the serial port with 15 pins upgrades the operating firmware.
