The IC693ACC302 Auxiliary Battery module provides an extended memory backup time compared to that of the standard memory backup batteries for Series 90-30, Series 90-70, and PACSystems CPUs. The Auxiliary Battery module replaces the standard CPU RAM backup battery in your control system.

When using this auxiliary battery pack, the RAM memory backup time for those units can be extended to 75 months without power. The CPU374 is the only exception – it can be extended to 15 months.

Operating Notes

This unit should not be serviced by the user. If it requires maintenance or testing, it should be conducted by a trained professional who is competent in electrical safety practices. PDF Electric and Supply does offer repair services. There is a 1-Amp fuse sealed inside the battery pack. This fuse will open in the case of short-circuit or severe overload. If you think the fuse has opened, the unit will need to be tested as follows:

Turn off the PLC power.

Unplug the battery.

Use a volt meter to check the connector pins on the battery cable for any voltage.

If there is power, the fuse is not open. If there is no voltage, the fuse is most likely open. In this case, the unit will need replacement.

Date Codes

On the front of the auxiliary battery module you can find the date code. This consists of three digits. The first number is the year of manufacture whereas the last two digits are the fiscal week of manufacture.

For example, a date code of 315 would indicate the battery was manufactured in fiscal week 15 of 2003.

These units have a relatively short shelf life of approximately seven years. For this reason, any battery packs that have been in storage for a long type should be disposed of.

Safe Disposal

At the end of its life, ensure that all battery packs are disposed of safely. Follow the guidelines for this in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) that was included with the product.

The IC693ACC302 module is an auxiliary battery module manufactured by GE Fanuc. It has a 15 Amps per hour capacity with a voltage rating of 3 Volts. The GE Fanuc Series 90-30 IC693ACC302 auxiliary battery module can be easily mounted by using the panel mounting surface with flat head machine screws. The battery module is cULus listed and CE certified. The IC693ACC302 battery has a date code on the front side. The code consists of 4 digits that represent the manufacturing year. During the installation of the battery pack, the power source should be disconnected and the mounting base should be properly earthed. When it is not in use, the battery module should be safely stored in a clean environment with zero traces of electromagnetic noise.
