The IC698PSD300 is a Multi-Purpose High Capacity 24 VDC, 300 Watt Power Supply manufactured by GE Fanuc for series RX7i. It provides a maximum output of up to 300 watts, operates from 18 to 30 VDC, and requires forced air cooling.
This power supply module offers a logic level of sequencing signals to the RX7i backplane modules. It also offers protection against overvoltage fault conditions, overcurrent, and overtemperature.
Provision of cool air is facilitated by a powerful tray fan that forces air into the power supply’s engine. This fan is mounted at the bottom of the rack. The IC698PSD300 also has an airflow sensor that detects fan failure or air blockage. If the power supply senses any interruption in air flow, it responds by switching off all outputs and turning on the over temperature LED indicator (RED). The power supply automatically recovers from this condition when the internal temperature decreases to operating levels.
The IC698PSD300 module’s three LEDs work together with the airflow sensor. The green OUTPUT OK indicates that all the three DC output channels are operating within the specified range. It only turns OFF if one of the three DC output channels has failed. The red OVER TEMP LED will alert the user if the critical supply temperature exceeds its limit or if the airflow sensor detects interruption of air flow.
Important warning: Do not insert or remove modules when the power supply or any externally-connected power sources are on. Hazardous voltages could exist resulting in personal injury, module damage, or unexpected operation of the device or process.
