The GE Fanuc IC695SPC100 transceiver module is a small, pluggable transceiver that is manufactured as a member of the Rx3i PACSystems series. Every small, pluggable cage found at the bottom of the PROFINET controller module accepts a 10, 100, or 1000 megabytes per second rated copper SFP. This means that the SFP device supports a single-mode fiber SFP rated at 100 megabytes per second, a multi-mode fiber SFP rated at 100 megabytes per second, a single-mode fiber SFP rated at 1000 megabytes per second, or a multi-mode fiber SFP rated at 1000 megabytes per second. The small pluggable devices like the IC695SPC100 SFP transceiver can be removed or replaced while the module is in operation. The GE Fanuc RX3i PROFINET controller has support for a wide range of SFP devices except those that are configured as GENERIC SFP devices in the Proficy Machine Edition software. The PROFINET controller, which is part of the RX3i PACSystems series, attempts to run while using the SFP that is known as the Ethernet SFP.
The IC695SPC100 small pluggable transceiver module, like other SFP devices, should be installed in Port 3 and Port 4 of the GE Intelligent Platforms and GE Fanuc PROFINET Controller (PNC). However, it is recommended that the specific SFP module that is installed in every cage be defined in the configuration of the PNC’s Proficy Machine Edition software. The operators must always be sure to keep the protective plug installed in the IC695SPC100 SFP transceiver device. According to the manufacturer’s installation guidelines, the SFP device should be inserted with the electrical contacts leaning toward the inner part of the PROFINET controller until the device clicks into the right position.
