The GE Fanuc IC695NKT002 Ethernet NIU kit is an Ethernet Network Interface Unit (NIU) starter kit for the GE RX3i Control System. This starter kit contains 2 Ethernet modules (one IC695NIU001 Ethernet NIU module and one IC695ETM001 Ethernet transmitter module). The IC695NKT002 Ethernet NIU kit provides the RX3i PACSystems and the Series 90-30 control systems with Ethernet communication and control capability. Once it is installed, data exchange between CPUs and connected devices is automatic, and the Ethernet modules provide system control via any master devices (usually CPUs) that support the Ethernet global data exchange. The IC695NKT002 Ethernet NIU kit also provides Series 90-30 and RX3i controllers with device status information about each data exchange that happens over the Ethernet network.

 

The standard features of the IC695NKT002 Ethernet NIU kit include a high-speed data exchange via the Ethernet Global Data (EGD) feature, high-speed TCP/IP communication using SRTP, 10 MB of built-in flash memory for user data storage, 20 KB of optional Logic memory that supports a wide range of programming languages (except the C language), a lithium battery-backed real-time clock, and upgradeable system firmware. The IC695NKT002 Ethernet NIU kit also features built-in RS-485 and RS-232 serial ports, extensive station management tools, and support for processes with redundant controllers. The IC695NKT002 Ethernet NIU kit comes with a front-end 3-position run/stop switch that is disabled by default and can only be enabled via the configuration of the Ethernet NIU module’s setting tab. The module in this kit has 8 LED indicators that display the diagnostic and operational status of the module. The IC695NKT002 kit’s module is meant to be installed on the GE RX3i or Series 90-30 rack, and it draws power from the backplane.
