Technical Information

The IC695NKT001 NIU or Network Interface Unit is manufactured by GE Fanuc in the RX3i PacSystem series. It is specifically made to be an Ethernet Network Interface Unit. The 2 serial ports that the IC695NKT001 NIU comes with are the RS-232 serial port and the RS-485 serial port. The built-in flash memory in the IC695NKT001 NIU has a capacity of 10 MB. This unit is ideal for use as an expansion device in both local I/O systems and remote I/O systems. It can communicate with a variety of Ethernet I/O devices, and it can also communicate with programmable logic controllers or PLCs from the GE RX3i PacSystem series and from the GE Series 90-30 product line.


 

The GE Fanuc RX3i PacSystem IC695NKT001 NIU can operate safely in an ambient temperature range from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. The only kind of PLC backplane that it can be installed in is a universal backplane. In addition to its RS-232 serial port and its RS-485 serial port, the IC695NKT001 NIU also comes with an RJ-45 port for communication. The RJ-45 port comes with a built-in switch. This port can also support a data exchange rate from 10 to 100 megabytes. The protocols that the IC695NKT001 NIU can support are the Modbus master protocol, the Modbus slave protocol, and the SNP protocol. The RX3i PacSystem PLC that this NIU is compatible with as an Ethernet expansion device can also be expanded further with other GE Fanuc Ethernet NIU modules that can connect to other remote and distributed I/O devices.
