The IC695ALG508 input module is an isolated RTD input module that has been designed by GE Fanuc Automation. This module has been exclusively designed to operate with the RX3i PACSystems mid-range controllers. The RTD input module's main objective is to enable the direct connection of 2-wire and 3-wire RTD temperature sensors without the need for using external signal-processing devices such as transducers and transmitters. All the processing of the RTD signals is performed by using this module. The GE Fanuc Automation IC695ALG508 isolated RTD input module comes with 8 isolated RTD input channels. Each one of these channels can be individually configured for different RTD or resistance applications.

The lifecycle status of the GE Fanuc Automation IC695ALG508 isolated RTD input module is active and the module type is also resistive, providing channel to channel isolation. The module uses a universal backplane and a PCI bus as backplane support, and it occupies one slot of the rack. The GE Fanuc Automation IC695ALG508 isolated RTD input module can perform full diagnostics for errors such as open wire and short circuit errors, and it has a positive and negative rate of change and high and low alarms. The channel to channel isolation rating is 250 Volts AC continuous and 1500 Volts AC for 1 minute. The module does not include a notch filter and it has a calibrated accuracy of 0,5% at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The resolution of the module is 32 bits standard with a floating-point data format or 16 bits with an integer input data format. The module does not provide input impedance and it does not require the use of another I/O module.

Temperature accuracy for inputs from 4-wire RTDs over temperature span (2.3, 4, and 4.7 Hz filters). This data does do not include the RTD sensor accuracy, which must be included when determining the overall system performance.

Three-wire RTDs have similar accuracies, but depend on the lead resistances being balanced.

For 2-wire RTDs, the lead resistance of the RTD contributes to the temperature error.

All tolerances double when 24Hz or 28Hz filters are used.

Customer Questions and Answers

  • Question:  What is an IC695ALG508?  Answer:  The IC695ALG508 is an 8-Channel, Isolated, Resistance Temperature Detector Input module from the GE Fanuc RX3i Series.
  • Question:  What does IC695ALG508 do?   Answer:  This module provides 8, isolated differential RTD input channels.
  • Question:  The configuration for each channel can be what?   Answer:
    • RTD Inputs:
      • 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 ohm Pt 385
      • 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 ohm Pt 391.6
      • 100, 200, 500, and 1000 ohm Ni 618
      • 120 ohm Ni 672
      • 604 ohm NiFe 518
      • 10, 50, and 100 ohm Cu 426
    • Resistance Inputs:
      • 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 Ohms
  • Question:  What is one thing you will need to test IC695ALG508?   Answer:  You will need a high-density terminal strip (IC694TBB032).
  • Question:  What do I need to know about the high-density terminal strip?   Answer:  You should make sure the lever on it is in the upright-most position, which will turn the LED green to let you know you are fully connected. If it is red or you don't have a light, then you know something is wrong.
  • Question:  What am I expecting to see when I probe each channel with the resistor?   Answer:  You should expect to see the same number because you should have set them all up with the same configuration.
  • Question:  Why is this important?   Answer:  It is important because if there is an issue with a channel not reading the same number, then you will know and be able to check into that channel.
  • Question: What should I do if my IC695ALG508 is not working properly?   Answer:  Your IC695ALG508 may need repair
