The GE Fanuc IC694MDL634 is a 24 VDC 8-point POS/NEG Logic Input Module that belongs to the Rx3i PACSystem series. The required power supply to run this module is 24 VDC. It deploys eight inputs that can be driven by negative or positive logic. When used with positive logic, it sinks current from a device to the user common. The opposite happens when the module is used with negative logic.

Positive logic input modules sink current from the input device to the user common or negative power bus.  The input device is connected between the positive power bus and the input terminal. The GE Fanuc IC694MDL634 has eight inputs, which receive current from a single power source. This source is 24 VDC and can provide power to devices that connect to the module. When IC694MDL634 is connected to an expansion backplane of a PLC system, its power source comes from the backplane. However, an external +24 VDC supply is needed when the module connects to a universal backplane. Among the devices that are compatible with the inputs are pushbuttons, limit switches, and electronic proximity switches.

The IC694MDL634 has eight indication LEDs that correspond with each input. Those inputs are referring to terminals 2 to 9 of a total of 20 terminals on the module. A blue label helps the user identify the device as a low voltage module. Any slot of the RX3i system can be used to connect to this module as it is fully compatible with the series.
