The IC694DSM324 is a GE Fanuc motion controller module belonging to the Rx3i PACSystem. It’s a multi-axis module, which will support standard mode (follower control loop disabled) and follower mode (follower control loop enabled).
The modules come with electronic CAM functionality, an analog I/O port that is used for connection to a PC, and switch inputs for every servo axis. For programming and configuration purposes, the module uses a single point of connection with firmware being saved in flash memory and updated through the COMM port. Storage is non-volatile and can hold up to 10 programs as well as 40 subroutines. Furthermore, it comes with a powerful set of motion program instructions designed for use by 1 to 4 axes.
The IC694DSM324 is equipped with eight LED indicators for displaying the status of the module. The STATUS LED is usually ON, which means the device is working properly. If the LED goes out, this indicates an error and a non-functional module. During module configuration, the CONFIG LED is ON. The FSSB LED is ON when there are FSSB communications and BLINKS during setup. There are also axis-enabled LEDs that come ON when axis 1 to 4 drives are enabled.
The FSSB connector allows for fiber connection to servo amplifiers for command / instructions exchange and diagnostics. It normally has a protection cap to avoid damage. The RJ-11 COMM port is used for downloading of firmware updates.
