Product Description

IC694BEM321 is a PACSystems RX3i master controller module that provides an I/O Link communications with up to 16 slaves if needed. This module acts as a master on a proprietary GE I/O Link. The master in the setup can receive 1024 discrete inputs from slaves and send up to 1024 discrete outputs.

The module can be installed on any available I/O slot in the RX3i or Series 90-30 system. However, for the best overall performance, it should be installed in the main backplane or in an expansion backplane. The availability of the power supply will determine the maximum number of I/O links that can be installed. If multiple I/O link master modules are in the same PLC system, then they must be placed on separate I/O links to operate.

A fuse protects the +5 volt signal pins that are used by the Optical Adapter cable and is replaceable by a 0.5A fast-blow fuse if needed. This module has three separate LEDs that show both communicating and operating status. The Link Restart pushbutton is available to restart the operation of the link if failure occurs; however, pushing the Link Restart while the link is operating has no effect on the system. If a failure does occur, all slaves must be power cycled before using Link Restart. The IC694BEM321 has a front module with one 20 pin Honda-type connector. This is used for the connection to the first slave on the I/O link. All signals are RS422/485 compatible on this unit.
