The GE Fanuc IC694ALG442 is an Analog Combination Current/Voltage Input/Output Module for Rx3i PacSystems. This module provides four distinct input channels and two single-ended output channels. Each channel can be configured using Machine Edition software in any of the following ranges: (0 to +10) unipolar, (-10 to +10 volts) bipolar, 0 to 20 mA, or 4 to 20 mA. The 0 to +10 unipolar range is the default setting for the system and will be automatic upon installation unless altered. In a higher mode, the input channels can be configured for a 4 to 20 mA range. The IC694ALG442 can be used in any I/O slot within the Rx3i system.
Various outputs can be configured. A Hold Last State is possible if the system power is interrupted or can be reset to the low end of the given series. Outputs may also be configured to run in ramp mode on command from the applicable program. Additionally, low and high alarm ranges can be set for all input channels with an open wire fault relayed to the CPU for each output channel.
This IC694ALG442 module must be attached to a 24 VDC power from an outside source for proper use. If used with the RX3i Universal Backplane, the external source can be attached through the TB1 connector located on the left hand side of the backplane. Another option is available through a direct connection on the module’s terminal block. If using the backplane, the external source must be connected to the terminal block. Resolution per bit is based on the configured input or the output range. If the current source is reversed into input, or if it is below the low end of the current range, the module inputs a data word equivalent to the low end of the range. Resolution of the translated signal is 12 binary bits from the A/D converter in the %AI. Each channel is capable of 15 to 16 bit converting.
As a bonus feature, IC694ALG442 can respond directly to specific COMMREQ commands from the application program for certain tasks, such as removing the error code, amending input alarm limits, and putting one or both outputs into ramp mode.

The IC694ALG442 combination module from GE Fanuc is an RX3i PACSystems combination module that can host both inputs and outputs, and these inputs and outputs can be either voltage or current inputs and outputs. The IC694ALG442 combination I/O module can support 2 single-ended analog outputs and 4 differential analog inputs. The output voltage ranges that this combination module supports for its current outputs are ranges of 0 to 20 milliamps or 4 to 20 milliamps, while the supported input voltage ranges for current inputs are ranges of 0 to 20 milliamps, 4 to 20 milliamps of standard current, or 4 to 20 milliamps of enhanced current. The supply voltage range of the GE Fanuc IC694ALG442 combination I/O module runs from 20 to 30 Volts DC.
The GE Fanuc RX3i PACSystems IC694ALG442 combination I/O module only has an environmental protection rating of IP 20. It is recommended to install this combination module in an enclosure that will increase its protection rating and keep it safe from water, dust, debris, and chemicals. When it operates, the IC694ALG442 combination I/O module consumes 95 milliamps of current at a voltage rating of 5 Volts DC and it consumes 129 milliamps at an isolated voltage of 24 Volts DC. When this combination I/O module is used in an RX3i PACSystems PLC, it can be installed in any of the available I/O slots in the RX3i backplane, and it can send signals to the PLC’s CPU when it experiences a fault or an error.
