IC694ALG390 is manufactured by GE Fanuc for the Rx3i PacSystem. The IC694ALG390 is a 2-channel analog module with two output channels and the capability to convert digital data. The channels update after each scan at an approximate update rate of 5 milliseconds. The IC694ALG390 module outputs can be configured to Default or Hold Last State if the CPU resets for any reason or enters stop mode.
The IC694ALG390 has a voltage range usage of -10 to +10 volts. The external voltage ranges from 18VDC to 30VDC with a 10% external voltage ripple. The module’s location is important when analyzing power sources. If the module is located in an RX3i Universal Backplane, an external source of Isolated +24 VDC is required to provide module power. If the module is located in an Expansion Backplane, its primary power source can be the Isolated +24 VDC from the backplane power supply or an external Isolated +24 VDC supply connected to the terminal block. If the external source is between 27.5-30 VDC, it takes over the module’s load from the Isolated 24 VDC system supply. An external source should be used if the user needs to maintain hold last state operation during a loss of backplane power.
Field connections should be wired using a decent grade of twisted, shielded instrumentation cable to minimize capacitive loading and noise. The shields should be connected to GND on the user terminal connector block. The GND connection provides access to the backplane (frame ground), which results in rejection of noise caused by shield drain currents.
