Product Description

The IC694ALG221 is an Analog Current Input Module manufactured by GE Fanuc for the RX3i PacSystem. The module has two input ranges, 4 to 20mA (default) or 0 to 20 mA. The module is equipped with two range jumpers, one for the first and second channels and the other for the third and fourth channels. When a range jumper is connected to the I/O terminal panel, the input range deviates to 0-20mA.

All four channels possess a conversion speed of one-half of a millisecond. The channels’ conversion speed allows a 2-millisecond update rate. This occurs because there are two channels on each jumper with a conversion speed of one-half millisecond per channel.

Input protection for IC694ALG221 will suffice for operation with reduced performance with up to 200 V common-mode. The module provides electrical isolation of external noise between the field wiring and backplane by utilizing optical isolation.

IC694ALG221 can be installed in any I/O slot of an RX3i system. Location of the module helps identify the power source. If the module’s location is in the universal backplane, an external source of remote power accompanied by the 24VDC is needed to provide power. If it is in the expansion or remote backplane, remote power is distributed by the backplane itself. The module’s power supply is functioning when the Module’s LED OK is ON.

To help in the reduction of noise and capacitive issues, ground connections to the IC694AGL221 module need to be wired with a high grade of twisted, protected instrumentation cable. Shields can be connected to either the COM or GND.
