Manufactured by GE Fanuc/Emerson Intelligent Platforms, the STXPBS824 module is an RSTi Profibus module with sixteen 24 Volts DC rated sink positive logic inputs and sixteen 24 Volts DC rated relay outputs. It is also expandable with as many as 8 extra modules. This unit belongs to the GE RSTi PACSystems product line and it has a Profibus network adapter that is used with a slave device with integrated inputs and outputs. Some of the key features of this module are its compact and distributed I/O that give it a long operating life. The STXPBS824 RSTi Profibus module also has Ethernet-based slice inputs and outputs to help provide high levels of flexibility and performance. It has an easy configuration process, and it is also easy to upgrade and manage. This unit offers enhanced high-speed communication, which allows high amounts of data to be generated and handled by the device.

 

The GE Fanuc/Emerson STXPBS824 RSTi Profibus module is intended to provide optimal performance through the RSTi Profinet interface which offers outstanding performance. This unit and other similar devices in the RSTi PACSystems product line also provide faster control throughput that optimizes the machine cycle times. Additionally, the STXPBS824 RSTi Profibus module has increased uptime with controller diagnostics that allow the users to detect the network and errors quickly in order to keep the downtime at a minimum. Other benefits of the RSTi module are the low cost per point because it can be configured to meet a variety of application requirements. It also features reduced development time and it reduces the costs of installation. This unit supports expansion by simply having another module installed next to it without the users needing to interfere with the wiring.
