Technical Information

The GE Fanuc STXMBS002 RSTi Modbus RS-485 Slave Network Adapter has been specifically designed to be used for serial RS-485 data communications protocols where it serves as the main interface between an RSTi PLC system and other equipment with the Modbus RS-485 protocol. The main benefit of using the serial Modbus RS-485 communication protocol is that it allows for a real-time data transfer between the RSTi Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and up to 64 independent devices (32 drivers and 32 receivers). The maximum cable length for connecting the GE Fanuc STXMBS002 RSTi Modbus RS-485 Slave Network Adapter to other devices is 1200 meters (3937 feet). This network adapter board has complete compatibility with both the ASCII and RTU communication modes. It always acts as a slave device in a master-slave framework, that is, it acts as the passive receiver that will only respond to the master processor when there is some information that needs to be passed along.

 

The GE Fanuc STXMBS002 RSTi Modbus RS-485 Slave Network Adapter uses a 24 Volts DC rated power source and it is expandable with up to 32 additional modules. Because it is a small and lightweight solid-state electronic board, the GE Fanuc STXMBS002 RSTi Modbus RS-485 Slave Network Adapter is very easy to install in pre existing electrical enclosures, with the only prerequisite being that these enclosures should not be exposed to direct sunlight, high humidity, and temperatures outside the range of -20 to 60 degrees Celsius (-4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). The GE Fanuc STXMBS002 RSTi Modbus RS-485 Slave Network Adapter should only be installed, maintained, or repaired by qualified electrical or electronic technicians, in order to guarantee trouble-free operation and extended operating lifespan.
