The STXDNS824 module is a RSTi DeviceNet module with 16 sink inputs and 8 relay outputs. Both the inputs and outputs are built-in and they can be expanded with up to 10 additional modules. This module is used for communication with devices in the local industrial network. The DeviceNet protocol is an industrial communication protocol. It can be easily configured and upgraded if needed. This module comes with Ethernet-based I/O and high speed communication module that adds flexibility and reliability to industrial automation processes. The STXDNS824 module is small with dimensions of 42 x 99 x 70 millimeters. It weighs approximately 155 grams. It meets both industrial and environmental standards including the UL, cUL, CE, and ODVA standards. The temperature of the installation area should be maintained between -20 and 50 degrees Celsius.
The STXDNS824 RSTi module offers module power smart modules and field power smart modules along with communication smart modules that can be used with one another. These smart modules are equipped with diagnostic features that help the device to detect errors during operation. The STXDNS824 module uses a 5 Volts DC bus to pass power from one module to another. The DeviceNet module can be easily configured and controlled by using the Proficy Machine Edition Software. The module can be connected to a personal computer with a serial port. The STXDNS824 module comes with a built-in module-locking mechanism that holds it securely on the DIN rail. The front of the module has removable terminal blocks for easy installation and replacement. The DeviceNet module supports different communication speeds of 125, 250, and 500 Kbps when using a dedicated Devicenet Cable.
