The STXDNS116 module is an RSTi DeviceNet module with built-in relay isolated outputs. It has been manufactured by GE Fanuc. It comes with 16 output points and it can support an expansion with 10 additional modules. The RSTi output module offers high-performance industrial processing and it reduces installation time. This module is extensively used in industrial automation applications because of its cost and time effectiveness. This communication module uses a dedicated DeviceNet cable with 5 pins. The cable length can range from 100 to 500 meters. The module can communicate at speeds of 125, 250, or 500 Kbps. It can support a maximum 64 nodes. The STXDNS116 module can be mounted easily in the leftmost position of the I/O series rack by using the slide and lock mechanism. It can also be mounted by using a DIN rail. The module is compact in size and it has dimensions of 42 x 99 x 70 millimeters. It weighs around 155 grams.
The front part of the STXDNS116 RSTi DeviceNet module has a node address selector that can be changed by using a rotating dial. Additionally, there are LED indicators on the top part of the module that indicate different things that are happening in the module. The STXDNS116 module dissipates 30 milliamps of current with a 24 Volts DC power supply. The Fn Bus signal can be connected from the front, along with the system power and the GND power. The STXDNS116 module can be used in different operating modes including the Bit Strobe, Polling, Cyclic, and COS modes. The module is certified with the UL, cUL, CE, and other standards. The installation environment should be clean without any traces of EMC noise or dust and corrosive gas.
