Technical Information

The STXDNS016 DeviceNet Network Adapter belongs to the PACSystems RSTi Series of network adapters made by GE Fanuc. It comes with 16 built-in relay outputs. This module supports the DeviceNet communication protocol. It also has a small removable terminal block which makes it easy for the users to make secure connections. The 16 outputs are divided into 4 equal groups. The STXDNS016 DeviceNet Network Adapter has 16 indicator LEDs for each output and another 3 LEDs that are the “MOD,” “NET,” and “I/O” LEDs that are used to indicate the status of the module, network, and I/O devices, respectively. It accepts a 24 Volts DC rated field power line and provides 5 Volts DC of system power.     

 

The STXDNS016 DeviceNet Network Adapter supports up to 10 I/O devices. It comes with the module base diagnostic functions and it can work as a slave device under the master device and communicate with the master device by using the polling, strobe, COS, and cyclic process protocols. It supports auto baud rate detection as well as a variety of transmission rates including rates of 125, 250, and 500 kilobytes per second. The node address and communication speed can be selected by using the DIP switch. The STXDNS016 DeviceNet Network Adapter can be easily installed without the need for any tools. It has a 5-pin open male connector as the interface connector of the module. The power dissipation of the module is 40 milliamps at 24 Volts DC. It must be located on the first slot as the first module of the RSTi system. The weight of the module is 155 grams. This module supports a variety of applications such as process control, wastewater, and packaging applications.
