Technical Information

The ST-7518 module is one of the modules for the industrial GE Intelligent Platforms RSTi system that is designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc. The GE Intelligent Platforms system is built from many components and it is designed to operate at a high level. The system uses the popular PROFINET network interface and it is built from components like discrete inputs and outputs, motion modules, analog inputs and outputs, serial modules, and system modules. Additionally, the system can operate through a DeviceNet network that offers other operating capabilities as well. The users can take advantage of configuration tools that work through the Proficy Machine Edition software. These tools allow the users to select the proper I/O module for their applications and also to configure the parameters that are important for operation. The configuration files are transferred to the controller and they are read on the RSTi system once the system is connected. 

 

Additionally, the RSTi system that the ST-7518 module is part of can be used with a third-party configuration tool such as the I/O Guide Pro. This tool allows for network independence for the integrators and easy configuration through use of several different RSTi network interfaces. The I/O Guide Pro tool offers features like address mapping, bus loading, and product imaging and it provides all the necessary technical data. The ST-7518 module is a distribution module that is made for integration with different field devices and it offers 8 I/O points that can be used for making connections. The module is an ID-type of component and it includes several status LED indicators that can be helpful in allowing the users to quickly detect errors. The ST-7518 module needs a bus address and it has a field power input voltage rating of 24 Volts DC. The ST-7518 module has a current rating of 10 Amps and it has a power dissipation rating of 18 milliamps at 5 Volts DC voltage.
