Technical Information

The ST-5651 Motion Control Module is a single-channel pulse output motion module manufactured by GE Fanuc. It is used for providing pulse train output for motion control applications. It comes with a single axis, and with 20 kilohertz of pulse output frequency with 50% of the fixed duty cycle. The ST-5651 Motion Control Module provides short-circuit protection diagnostics facilities and built-in test points to allow the users to easily identify system errors to reduce machine downtime and increase troubleshooting efficiency. It has 3 LED indicators and it provides photocoupler isolation between the I/O and the logic side. The bus connections of the module can be found at the top of the module.      

 

The ST-5651 Motion Control Module is designed with advanced locking mechanisms to secure the module with other modules and on the DIN rail. It is recommended to use only the cables which are specifically rated for use with this module for wiring. Its removable terminal assembly accepts cables with the AWG 14 gauge. Each terminal has a spring clamp which ensures a secure and durable connection. The ST-5651 Motion Control Module uses the RS-422 protocol for controlling the actuators and field devices. It has 2 common terminals and Terminals 6 and 7 are used to connect the field power supply. The weight of the module is 70 grams. The bottom of the module has the field power contacts. A configuration software package can be used to configure the module easily and effectively. This module can be mounted either in a vertical or horizontal orientation on a DIN rail. It is the ideal solution for controlling small industrial motion control applications.
