Technical Information

The ST-5641 Motion Control Module is a single-channel, pulse output motion module manufactured by GE Fanuc. It provides pulse train outputs for industrial motion control applications. It offers 20 kilohertz of pulse output frequency and 50% of fixed pulse output duty. The pulse output counter is rated for 32 bits of data. The ST-5641 Motion Control Module provides advanced diagnostic facilities, including short-circuit protection. The diagnostic features of the module enable the users to quickly find and address problems in the system to keep the downtime at a minimum. The terminal assembly for the module consists of built-in test points for easy troubleshooting. The top of the module has a color code for easy identification.    

 

The ST-5641 Motion Control Module is a source type, single-channel pulse and direction output module. It has 3 indicator LEDs for the RSTi bus status, pulse output status, and pulse direction output status. It has a unique locking mechanism to mount securely on a DIN rail. It also has a slide and lock mechanism to secure it to another module. It is advised to use only the specified cables for wiring. The ST-5641 Motion Control Module has a removable terminal block with spring clamp terminals. It has 8 terminals in total. Terminal Number 0 is for pulse output channel and Terminal Number 1 is for pulse direction. Terminals 4, 5, 6, and 7 are used to connect to the 24 Volts DC field power. Each terminal accepts cables with a maximum gauge of 2 millimeters square or AWG 14. The field power must be removed from the module during the installation and removal of the module to avoid high-voltage hazards.
