Technical Information

The ST-5442 Motion Control Module is an RSTi 2-channel, PWM output motion module from GE Fanuc. It is a PWM module with 150 milliamps of rated current consumption at 5 Volts DC voltage. It provides Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for industrial motion applications. The drive type of the module is a PWM drive. The ST-5442 Motion Control Module has 8 pins and Pins number 0 and 1 are reserved for PWM output Channels #1 and #2, respectively. Pins 4, 5, 6, and 7 are used for the field power wiring. Pins 4 and 5 are common pins and Pins 6 and 7 are reserved for positive power. The module weight is 70 grams and the dimensions are 12 x 99 x 70 millimeters.           

 

The ST-5442 Motion Control Module offers 2 axes. The diagnostic facilities of the module support short-circuit protection. The module does not include encoder support. The power connector of the module is a removable terminal block with cage clamps. Its design includes a mechanical interlocking system to secure the module to DIN rail locking. A 35-millimeter DIN rails must be used for mounting the module. The ST-5442 Motion Control Module has a green/red LED indicator for the RSTi bus status and 2 LEDs to indicate the status of the channels. It provides photocoupler isolation for I/O to the logic side. It is recommended to use I/O cables with AWG 14 gauge for wiring. The field power requirement of the module is 24 Volts DC of nominal supply voltage, 18 to 28.8 Volts DC of operating voltage range, and 50 milliamps of power dissipation at 24 Volts DC.
