Technical Information

The GE Fanuc ST-5351 module is a 1-channel synchronous serial interface (SSI) module. The module supports multiple data rates including 62.5 kbps, 100 kbps, 125 kbps, 250 kbps, 500 kbps, 1 Mbps, and 2 Mbps. The maximum SSI data width is 30 bits. The SSI data delay time range is from 20 microseconds to 10 milliseconds. The SSI output is a C+, C- RS-422 differential output and the input is a D+, D- RS-422 differential input. The SSI code is gray code or natural binary code. The digital input is a 24 Volts DC sink input type with an 11 to 28.8 Volts DC voltage range. The ST-5351 module supports an SSI frame and field power diagnostics. A total of 5 status LEDs are provided on the module front panel.

 

The power dissipation of the ST-5351 module  is a maximum of 150 milliamps at 5 Volts DC. The I/O to logic isolation is photocoupler isolation and isolation is not available between the I/O and field power. The field power requirement for the ST-5351 module is 24 Volts DC nominal with a range of 11 to 28.8 Volts DC and a maximum of 40 milliamps of input current. GE recommends a maximum cable size of 14 AWG for the I/O wiring. The approximate weight of the ST-5351 module is 70 grams and it measures 12 x 99 x 70 millimeters. The ST-5351 module is made to be installed on a DIN rail. The environmental protection rating of the module is IP 20. The module is certified by the CE, UL, and cUL standards. The operating and non-operating temperature ranges for the module are -20 to 50 degrees Celsius and -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, respectively.
