Technical Information

The ST-5232 Serial Interface Module is an RS-485, 2-channel RSTi serial interface module designed by GE Fanuc. It is easy to configure and manage. This module ensures durability with its compact and distributed I/O design. It requires twisted-pair cables for wiring. Some of the specifications of this module include 300 to 115,200 bps of transfer rate, 1024 bytes of input buffer size, 256 bytes of output buffer size, 120 Ohms of line impedance, and 155 milliamps of maximum power dissipation at 5 Volts DC. The ST-5232 Serial Interface Module also comes with color-coded module identifications and an easy to remove terminal block. The bottom of the module is equipped with a DIN rail locking and unlocking mechanism for mounting.

 

The ST-5232 Serial Interface Module is a compact device that ensures high-speed communication. It delivers high levels of performance through Ethernet-based slice I/O. It has 2 channels and it supports the serial RS-485 protocol. This easy-to-install device offers reduced installation costs. Its distributed nature allows the users to easily assemble and reassemble devices without impacting the wiring of the main control panel. The ST-5232 Serial Interface Module is a dual-channel serial interface module that supports ASCII and full-duplex baud rates. It consists of status indicator LEDs and advanced diagnostic facilities. Its 4 green indicator LEDs provide visible status updates for the Rx and Tx ports of the 2 channels. It supports the GE Intelligent Platforms Proficy Machine Edition software which offers powerful configuration facilities. It has 8 pins which are reserved for 2 channels, that are the ground and shield wirings. This RSTi serial interface module offers extended communication options with its RS-485 interface.
