Technical Information

The GE Fanuc ST-5101 module is a high-speed counter module. The ST-5101 counter module is a single-channel module rated for 5 Volts input voltage. The module is rated for 16.2 milliamps of input current at 5 Volts DC. The minimum on-status voltage and current specifications are 2.6 Volts DC and 5 milliamps, respectively. The maximum off-status specifications are 1.25 Volts DC and 0.25 milliamps. The maximum input frequency supported by the ST-5101 counter module is 1.5 Megahertz. The input duty range is 10 to 90%. The configurable selections for the input filter include the bypass selection and the 1 microsecond, 5 microseconds, 10 microseconds, 50 microseconds, 100 microseconds, 500 microseconds, 1 millisecond, 5 milliseconds, and 10 milliseconds time settings. The counting mode configurations include the 1-pulse mode, 2-pulse mode, encoder x 1 mode, encoder x 2 mode, encoder x 4 mode, period/rate mode, and the PWM output mode.

 

The settings for the gate function mode on the ST-5101 counter module include the store/continue, store/wait/resume, store/reset/wait/start, and the store/reset/start settings. The counter size on the ST-5101 module is 24 bits. The channel type is the 1-channel sink type. The output current and voltage ratings are 0.5 Amps and 5 to 28.8 Volts DC, respectively. The power dissipation rating of the module is 80 milliamps at 5 Volts DC. The module requires 24 Volts DC of field power and it consumes 20 milliamps of current to operate. The weight of the ST-5101 module  is 70 grams and it measures 12 x 99 x 70 millimeters. The operating and non-operating temperature ranges for the ST-5101 module are -20 to 55 degrees Celsius and -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, respectively.
