Technical Information

The ST-222F module is a discrete output module that has been designed by GE Fanuc Automation and included in the RSTi system from the GE Intelligent Platforms series. This system can support integrated operations between its devices and devices from the PACSystems series from GE Fanuc. Before attempting to connect different devices, the compatibility of these devices and the output module must be checked to minimize operation errors. This discrete output module operates only with devices and circuits that have positive logic. This means that devices with negative logic are not compatible with this module. The GE Fanuc Automation ST-222F discrete output module operates with a nominal voltage of 24 Volts DC. The operating voltage can range from 11 Volts DC to 28.8 Volts DC. The loading current for each of the output points that come embedded in the module is 0.5 milliamps per point.

 

The GE Fanuc Automation ST-222F discrete output module comes with 16 different output points that share 2 communication ports. The module also comes with a fusing system that can protect it from power surges of up to 3.5 Amps and 36 Volts. Fusing systems protect the circuits from short circuits and abnormal currents. This means the module reacts before any damage can be caused to it. The GE Fanuc Automation ST-222F discrete output module comes with LED indicators that show the status of the module and all the output points and it also comes with a 20-pin connector that requires an additional Hirose connector. The exact Hirose connector model that is required is the HIF3BA-20D-2.54C connector from the Japanese Hirose company. This connector needs to be ordered separately.
