GE Fanuc QuickPanels are filed Operator Interface Terminal (OIT) used for implementing local and computer-based monitoring and control of processes or machines.

QuickPanel (IC754) and QuickPanel+ (IC755) are designed with compact features and generally installed Flush mounten to an enclosure. QuickPanels come in a variety or screen sizes and actuation method. Typical screen sizes measures 5”-16” size, supporting Touch screen interaction. QuickPanel devices are available in Blue Monochrome, Monochrome or STN LCD, TFT, ElectroLuminescent, displays while QuickPanel+ are available in TFT, Standard TFT and Widescreen TFT display.

QuickPanel and QuickPanel+ devices are provided with a RS232 communication port and Ethernet communication ports as standard ports. Port number varies depending on the specific model of the QuickPanel device. Additionally, peripheral ports such as USB and SD card slot are provided as standard to allow insertion of external medium such as USB device, Mouse, Keyboard and Secure Digital card for storage of HMI data such as tag values, logs, recipes, project backup and reports. QuickPanel+ also features Audio ports such as One (1) Mono 3.5 mm jack microphone input and One (1) Line Out (Stereo) 3.5 mm jack port. 

QUickPanel devices features Central Processing unit (CPU) of Intel XScale PXA255 with clock speed of 400MHz and typical bus speed of 100MHz or faster and SDRAM memory type. QUickPanel+ utilizes a more advanced CPU, with the i.MX535 (1 GHz ARM Cortex A8). QuickPanel+ Random Access Memory (RAM) area offers memory range of 512MB to 1GB DDR3 SDRAM memory type while the Read-Only Memory (ROM) ranges from 256-512 MB NAND FLASH memory type. The QuickPanel+ SRAM features a unified memory size of 512KB with memory backup.

QuickPanel and QuickPanel+ devices utilizes Windows Compact Embedded (CE) Operating system. This operating systems provides a Windows operating system environment, used for accessing detailed configuration of the QuickPanel device such as communication parameters, storage folders, runtime and development environment. Windows CE also allows access to some Microsoft Windows tools such as notepad, web browser, control panel,  and other tools. Windows CE provides a user-friendly interface as more users are familiar with the Windows interface rather than providing a custom, DOS based like home environment. It is basically a subset of the WIN32 application.  Specifically for QuickPanel+, these devices support File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Server, HTTP Server, SNTP server and VNC server. 

 QuickPanel and QUickPanel+ devices are capable of communicating with a large number of controllers especially GE designed controllers such as GE Fanuc 90-30, 90-70, VersaMax, VersaMax Nano and VersaMax Micro, PACSystems and other controllers. Multi-languages is supported by the QuickPanel device which can be selected even when the system is online. 

QuickPanel Devices are configured using Proficy Machine Edition (PME) Software, a Microsoft Windows based programming software. This software allows definition of HMI screen, creating of static graphics, animation properties, tag definition, tag linking, communication setup definition. This programming software is loaded with pre-defined ISA standard symbols as well as standard command for building custom graphic presentations. It is built with library of electrical, mechanical, and similar components that may be used to reduce engineering time.
