The IC754VBL06MTD is a view, control, and display panel computer from the QuickPanel+ series manufactured by GE Intelligent Platforms. Designed for versatility, compatibility, and usability, this portable computer is ideal for factory floor operations.

 

The operating system used for the IC754VBL06MTD is the Windows Embedded Compact 7 from Microsoft, formerly known as Windows CE or CE.NET. Windows Embedded Compact 7 is a 32-bit operating system that uses the Win32 API.

 

This product is operated by a 12-bit resistive touchscreen with a 5.75-inch (14.6 centimeters) display and a resolution of 320 x 240. A small stylus (pointing device) is used in conjunction with the display touchscreen. The display supports both TFT color and passive FSTN monochrome. The display backlight is a Cold Cathode Fluorescent (CCFL).

 

The IC754VBL06MTD comes equipped with the Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer, a compact browser designed for loading web pages. This browser supports Jscript but not VBScript; however, Java and VBScript can be used by third-party applications. To connect to a local network or the Internet, an Ethernet or dial up connection must be configured, both of which can be accomplished in the browser application. Proxy server support is also available, as is the ability to transfer files to other devices via FTP.

 

The IC754VBL06MTD is 4.86 inches tall, or 126mm; 6.14 inches wide, or 158mm; 2.76 inches deep, or 70mm; and weighs about 2.5 pounds, or 1.16kg. A PXA255 processor from the XScale series manufactured by Intel powers this device. Processor clock speed is 300MHz. This product has 32 MB of flash and DRAM memory, along with 512 KB of SRAM memory. Memory can be increased via an expansion slot. This device comes equipped with both serial and Ethernet ports, along with a type 2 compact flash card port for external storage.
