The IC754VBI08CTD is a view and control QuikPanel Display manufactured by GE Automation. This small computer is capable of performing various tasks in an industrial control environment. The operating system is a 32-bit version of Windows Embedded Compact, also known as Windows CE. This microcomputer has an 8 in. TFT touch screen with 800 X 600 pixels and 65,536 colors. The processor powering this device is a 300MHz XScale PXA255.

 

This device has the ability to connect to web sites via Pocket Internet Explorer, a compact web browser built into the operating system. To view web pages, an Internet connection must be configured. Connection to the Internet is accomplished by either Ethernet or dial up. The IC754VBI08CTD can also function as a web server, file transfer server (FTP), and proxy server.

 

Other software capabilities include viewing drive information with Storage Manager, using the Backup utility to save registry and configuration data, creating self-signed certificates to use on the local network, and updating Machine Edition applications.

 

This device has 32 megabytes of flash and dynamic memory, along with 512 kilobytes of battery powered memory. Software required to boot this device is stored in 512 kilobytes of non-volatile memory. Both flash and dynamic memory house part of the Windows CE operating system. A memory expansion bus allows for the installation of additional memory along a 32-bit, 100MHz expansion bus.

 

The IC754VBI08CTD weighs four pounds (1.8KG). The bezel height is 8.18 inches (207.7mm). The width of the bezel is 9.8 inches (248.9mm). The depth of the bezel is .35 inches (9mm). This product operates on 24 watts of power and anywhere from 10.8-30 VDC.
