The communication module with the catalog number IC754GEN001 is produced by GE Fanuc and it is intended for use with the GE QuickPanel View operator interface devices. The IC754GEN001 communication module is a Genius interface adapter that meets the requirements listed in American, Canadian, Australian, and European industrial standards. The IC754GEN001 module also meets the regulations of the ATEX Group II Category standards if the installation process is performed according to the instructions that are laid out in the user manual. The main purpose of such a module is to provide a controller interface to the Genius serial bus. Additionally, it should be mentioned that all bus communications tasks in regard to the interfaces and protocols are executed through this module.

 

The IC754GEN001 communication module fits 6-inch terminals the best but it can be integrated with other terminals too. The module contains DIP switches, 2 serial ports, a Genius connector, a host connector, and shield in and shield out ports. The IC754GEN001 module has LED indicators for status updates. The IC754GEN001 module uses a daisy-chained bus cable and single twisted pair plus shield or Twinax cables. Additionally, the module features a bus termination value that can be selected through DIP switches. The module has a standard configurable baud rate of 153.6 Kbaud and an extended baud rate. The baud rate can also be 76.8 Kbaud or 38.4 Kbaud. The module supports up to 32 devices at a time at the highest baud rate. The environmental requirements of the IC754GEN001 module include an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and a storage temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). The device is also resistant to moderate shock and vibration during operation.
