The IC754CBF12CTD is a QuickPanel View and Control Computer made by GE Intelligent Platforms. This small computer is capable of functioning as both a single unit and as a networked device, as well as either an HMI or application controller. The IC754CBF12CTD is operated by a touch screen and powered by the Windows CE embedded operating system. For additional functionality, this device is also compatible with several third-party applications.

 

This device has the ability to connect to the Internet and launch web pages via the Pocket Internet Explorer browser. Support for Word, Excel, and PDF files is provided by the Microsoft File Viewer. The ability to repair and format data drives is provided by the Storage Manager application. Transferring Proficy Machine Edition projects to other QuickPanels is supported by the RestorePCCard utility.

 

Hardware specifications for this display panel include a 12-inch screen with a resolution of 800 X 600 pixels and a color rate of 16 bits/pixel. This display has a touch screen with an easy to use graphic interface, but an external keyboard attachment is possible. The enclosure dimensions are as follows: The height is 8.93 inches (226.8 millimeters), the width is 11.85 inches (301.1 millimeters), and the depth is 2.37 inches (60.1 millimeters). Device weight is 5.2 pounds (2.36 kilograms). Note: Enclosure dimensions are different from cutout dimensions.

 

The IC754CBF12CTD has an XScale processor with a clock speed of 400MHz. Three types of memory are supported. Static RAM has up to 512 kilobytes of space. Dynamic RAM and flash memory each contain 64 megabytes of space, and a portion of both Dynamic and flash memory house part of the operating system. A fourth memory type, ROM, contains the programs needed to start the device. ROM cannot be accessed by the File Explorer in Windows CE. To increase Dynamic RAM, a 100-pin Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) memory expansion slot is also available on a 32-bit, 100MHz bus.


This device has the following expansion and communication ports: one compact flash memory slot, which supports both 3.3v and 5v cards; one Field Bus slot; two version 1.1 USB ports; two Ethernet ports capable of 10BaseT and 100BaseTX; and two serial COM ports, one DP9P male and one EIA485 female. The IC754CBF12CTD also has four DIP switches capable of different control functions.
