Manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation, the ES1030 operator interface terminal is classified as part of the GE QuickPanel series. It features a 10-inch touchscreen input option, and it comes with both RS-232 and the RS-485 communication ports. At shipping, the unit weighs about 12 pounds or approximately 5.44 kilograms. It also supports the HMI-CAB-CS18 communication cable. The software edition upon which the device runs on is the Proficy View Machine Edition software. The GE Fanuc ES1030 display terminal is designed with an integrated flat panel display that provides other GE units with either monochrome or color display graphics. It can provide a grid of cells on the face of the display with its 12-bits resolution and resistive touch panel control technology if it has proper calibration. To protect the screen from dirt and scratches, the users need to use a specially made stylus to operate the touchscreen to increase the longevity of the display screen.

 

The GE Fanuc ES1030 QuickPanel operator interface terminal has a software keypad on the screen that is useful for feeding instructions and data into the device, and the keypad is also known as a soft input panel. There is a taskbar in the system that displays or hides the soft input panel with a 1-click command. Whenever it is visible, the keyboard can be navigated to any corner on the screen, ensuring that other parts are always visible when they need to be. The ES1030 terminal features a serial communication port marked as the COM 1 port, which is a bidirectional channel for accessible data as either a dial-up remote networking channel or only as a direct connection. The approximate dimensions of the ES1030 QuickPanel operator interface terminal in inches are 14 x 12 x 10 inches.
