Technical Information

The IC660EBS100 block is a GE Fanuc electronics assembly block. It is part of the Genius I/O system. This automation device is used in industrial applications. It is designed with 8 circuits and it has a voltage rating of 115 Volts AC or 125 Volts DC. The assembly can be used for connecting input and output devices by using a bus controller. The block is manufactured out of high grade aluminum and it is durable. The electronics assembly of the block houses the microprocessor that is responsible for block communication, computation, data storage, and other logical functions. The IC660EBS100 block can be mounted horizontally or vertically at up to a distance of 7500 feet away from the main PLC. It can also be used inside the panel, inside the operator station, and other places that are compact in size. The assembly should be kept in a clean place and the installation environment should be free from any traces of electromagnetic noise.


 

The GE Fanuc IC660EBS100 block has a failed switch diagnostics feature that sends reports to the operator in case of an unwanted event. The Genius block is able to process rapid pulse signals at up to a speed of 200 kHz. LED indicators are present in the block that indicate the on or off status of each circuit. They also indicate the communication activity in the block. The IC660EBS100 block is able to process a single diagnostics message during a bus scan. If a fault message has already been sent in the scan, the block saves its own message until the next scan. The environmental temperature for the IC660EBS100 block should be set between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius.

The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660EBS100K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
