The GE Fanuc IC660EBA024 electronic assembly is made for the Genius I/O block system. This electronic assembly with its corresponding terminal assembly (the IC660TAB024) makes up the whole functioning Genius I/O current source analog block. While the terminal assembly houses the block’s configuration settings that are stored in EEPROM and provides a base for all the field wiring, the electronic assembly contains the block’s microprocessor and provides an interface between field devices and the Genius bus. The IC660EBA024 electronic assembly also sends or accepts 4 milliamps to 20 milliamps rated analog signals. The IC660EBA024 electronic assembly comes with a 24/48 Volts DC rated block with 6 individually-isolated circuit channels (4 inputs and 2 outputs). Each circuit channel can accept 4 to 20 milliamps rated analog signals that are transmitted to the controller as discrete signals, and each input on its own provides 24 Volt DC loop power.
The IC660EBA024 electronic assembly comes with a dedicated bus switching module (BSM) that shares an electric common with the 2 output circuits and is isolated from the input circuits. All of the circuit channels support independent linear scale selection that helps convert internal values to application-supported engineering units. The electronic assembly offers software configuration and advanced diagnostics like alarm detection (low and high input signals), over-range and under-range input and output signal detection, open-wire detection (on the input), output error feedback detection, and internal fault reporting. The I/O block is backwards compatible with older block versions, and it supports configuration by using the IC66HHM501E hand-held monitor. The IC660EBA024 electronic assembly has an open-type design and it requires a protective enclosure for installation.
