The GE Fanuc IC660CBB903 Series Six PLC Bus controller (without diagnostics) is a Phase B bus controller for the Series Six PLC system. This bus controller interfaces the Series Six PLCs with the Genius I/O Serial bus. Unlike the diagnostic models, the IC660CBB903 controller does not come with the built-in diagnostic features but it relies on the handheld monitor to send out a diagnostic report from the block when necessary. The IC660CBB903 controller belongs to the Phase B enhanced bus controller series which supports bus applications with baud rates other than the standard 153.6 Kilo-baud rate. The IC660CBB903 controller also supports bus applications that include an RTD block or any Genius I/O block with more than 64 I/O bits. The IC660CBB903 controller is compatible with the Phase A bus controllers and it can be used to replace the Phase A controllers.
The IC660CBB903 controller is a rack-mounted enhanced Series Six PLC module. It can also be installed on either a CPU rack or a high-density remote I/O rack. The IC660CBB903 controller has a front-panel handheld monitor port which provides access to all the field devices on the bus excep thet I/O block configuration. Bus and block operations can be monitored, diagnostic messages can be displayed, and fault messages can be cleared from a convenient central location by using the handheld monitor. The IC660CBB903 controller also has I/O bus wiring terminals on the front for Serial bus and shield wiring connections. It has 2 front-panel LEDs that are the “BOARD OK” and “COMM OK” LEDs that show the bus controller’s status updates. The IC660CBB903 controller supports programmed communication between 2 CPU modules, and it also supports redundant bus communication.
IC660CBB903 is a Phase B GE Genius block and is compatible with all GENIUS supported PLC systems. The earlier version- IC660CBB901 is a Phase A GE Genius Block and is only compatible with Series Six and Series Five PLCs.
The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660CBB903K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
