The GE Fanuc IC660CBB902 PLC Bus controller module is made for the GE Series Six PLC system. The IC660CBB902 module is an enhanced rack-mounted “Phase B” module designed to interface the Genius I/O serial bus to the Series Six PLCs. It comes with built-in diagnostics that automatically sends out diagnostics reports from the I/O blocks to the CPU via the Genius I/O bus. The IC660CBB902 module also sends out diagnostics messages about its operation and the state of the bus. As a standard feature, the GE Fanuc Genius Serial I/O bus can support up to 31 connected devices including handheld monitors, the Genius I/O blocks, and other third party devices. It can be used to provide I/O services to all Genius I/O blocks and it can also be used for programmed communication between the field devices and the Series Six PLCs.
The IC660CBB902 module belongs to the “Phase B” bus controller family and this series comprises enhanced bus controllers that are built for buses with connection lengths of less than 2000 meters and baud rates other than the 153.6 Kilobaud standard rate. The IC660CBB902 module can also be used in any bus system that has RTD or Genius I/O blocks with over 64 input or output bits. The IC660CBB902 module supports programmed communication between multiple CPUs on the bus, and it also supports bus redundancy. The IC660CBB902 module can be installed on any slot of the CPU rack, a standard/regular I/O rack, or a high-capacity remote I/O rack. On the front panel is a handheld monitor connector for connecting handheld monitors. Using the handheld monitor provides operators with access to all devices connected on the bus. Device operations (except for the I/O block configuration) can easily be monitored from a convenient central location by using the handheld monitor.
IC660CBB902 is a Phase B GE Genius block and is compatible with all GENIUS supported PLC systems. The earlier version- IC660CBB900 is a Phase A GE Genius Block and is only compatible with Series Six and Series Five PLCs.
The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660CBB902K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
