IC660BBS103 replaces IC660BBS101

The IC660BBS101 is an isolated Genius I/O block by GE Fanuc with a power rating of 115 VAC or 125 VDC and an output current of 2 Amps with a frequency of between 47-63 Hz. The block weighs 4 lbs. with a block to block isolation of 1500 Volts. The block is fully compatible with handheld monitor IC660HHM501 and any GE Fanuc bus controller (PCIM or QBIM). Blocks numbered IC660CBS100, 1C660BBS100, and IC660BS101 are backward compatible with previous versions of this Genius I/O block.

The IC660BBS101 block comes with an array of LEDs, each circuit having its own LED. Should the circuit be configured as an input, the corresponding LED will indicate threshold voltage. However, if the circuit is configured to act as an output, the LED will indicate that the circuit is in a state commanded by the CPU. I/O block modules can be configured or set to act as input only, output only, or a combination of the two. The default setting is input only. If configured or set as input only, then all circuits should be set to either regular or tristate inputs. If configured or set as output only, all block circuits should be output only.

The isolated I/O blocks have the capacity to perform diagnostic checks such as over-temperature, absence of a load, sudden shutdown of the I/O block, failed switch, and power overload.  During field wiring, each terminal block can accommodate one AWG #12 or two AWG #14 wires. The minimum recommended wire size AWG #22. Spade or ring terminals of up to 0.27 inches in width can be accommodated by the terminal block. The user can connect a maximum of five power sources to the terminal assembly.

  FAQ's:

  • What is an IC660BBS101?
    • The IC660BBS101 is an 115VAC/125VDC Isolated I/O Block without Failed Switch Diagnostic. This block has 4 isolated groups of 2 I/O circuits, each rated to function at a nominal 115 volts AC or 125 volts DC.
  • What does IC660BBS101 ignore?
    • This block ignores differences between an output's commanded state and the actual state of the block's internal switch.
  • What is the isolation rated to withstand?
    • It is rated to withstand 250 VAC/VDC continuous between any group and ground or between any 2 groups.
  • What is the transient rating?
    • It is 2000V peak for 10 seconds.
  • What are some of the features of IC660BBS101 that are up for configuration?
    • AC/DC circuit voltage
    • Output Pulse Test capability
    • Selectable Input Filter Time from 10mS to 100mS
    • Output power up defaults
    • Output Hold Last State or default
    • CPU Redundancy type
    • Bus Switching module control
  • What diagnostic tests does this block perform?
    • Over temperature Open Wire for tristate inputs
    • Detection of loss of I/O power on pairs of circuits
    • Overload detection and shutdown
    • No-load detection
  • What is my next step if my IC660BBS101 is not functioning properly?
    • Your product may need repair.

For more information on the IC660BBS101 Isolated I/O Block of the GE Fanuc Genius I/O Series, please see the Datasheet User-Manual.

The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660BBS101K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
