The GE Fanuc Genius IC660BBA026 is a 24/48 volt DC Current-Source Analog Input Block. IC660BBA026 block is typically used to interface a controller to devices that transmit signals in the range of 4 to 20mA. The IC660BBA026 block has six 4-to-20mA input circuits with isolated channels. Each input provides a 24 volt current loop power supply that generates up to 25mA of current. Six independent inputs are isolated from all the other circuits on the block. Input accuracy is 0.1%. Input conversion time is selected to provide the right combination of noise rejection and input resolution. The IC660BBA026 block has programmable conversion times that range from 16ms - 400ms. Resolution notably increases as the conversion time lengthens. Input resolution is 1µA for 200mS conversion time.
Each input circuit can have upper and lower alarm limits programmed. The block always indicates a fault if either limit exceeds and consequently sends a message to the handheld monitor and CPU. When installing the IC660BBA026 into a redundant bus cable system, use the block’s dedicated digital output to pair it with a 24/48 VDC Bus-Switching Module (BSM). BSM circuitry and two output channels share with each other but are isolated from block inputs.
To configure blocks software and protect configuration from accidental changes, a handheld monitor is used. If communication with the CPU is interrupted, the user may decide whether block output holds at its last state or reverts to default settings. The user can set values for circuit scaling, turn fault reporting on/off, and decide how output feedback errors are handled.
