Product Description

The IC660BBA020 is a voltage/current analog block in the GE Fanuc Genius I/O series. It has four input and two output circuits. Two types of analog blocks are available with a power supply of 115 VAC and 24/48 VDC. IC660BBA020 supports five analog ranges: 0-10 volts DC; -10 volts DC to +10 volts DC; -5 volts DC to +5 volts DC; 0-5 volts DC; and 4-20 mA/1-5 volts DC. The internal power supply of this block can drive a current load of 300 Ohms.  Configurable block features include independent scaling; fault reports which can be enabled or disabled depending on input/output; selectable input filter time up to 1024ms; powerup default values for each output; and Low/High Alarm detection, among others.

IC660BBA020 is compatible with any handheld monitor IC66*HHM500, though HHM501 requires a change in configuration. The serial bus uses terminals 1 to 4 with AWG wires. Field devices use terminal 5 to 32 with AWG wires. Terminals 6 (DC+) and 7 (DC-) connect the power source to the 24/48 VDC. H and N terminals connect  the 115 VAC block with the 250V, 1/8Amp slow blow fuse. Terminals 5, 12, 28, and 20 are for ground. Three terminals named common are for a source. The user can connect input voltage device between V+ and IN and V- and RTN terminal in series. The user can connect output voltage device to terminals COM and VOUT. JMP terminal is for jumper connection. Terminals I+ and I- are for the current mode.  The first four input circuits convert incoming current or voltage signal to digital count with optional scaling. Circuit numbers 5 and 6 give output scaled digital count from CPU. I/O Enabled and Unit OK LEDs indicate the operating status of the block. The diagnostics system indicates fault messages.

Customer Questions and Answers

  • Question:  What is an IC660BBA020?  Answer:  The IC660BBA020 is a 24/48 VDC Voltage/Current Analog I/O Block of the GE Fanuc Genius I/O Series. This block has 4 independent input circuits and 2 independent output circuits.
  • Question:  What is the difference between IC660BBA020 and IC660BBA100?   Answer:  The only difference between these blocks is their power supply.
  • Question:  Can I use the IC660HHM501 Hand Held Monitor for the configuration of IC660BBA020?   Answer: Yes, you can.
  • Question:  What should the baud rate be set at when configuring this block?   Answer:  It should be set at 153.6K standard.
  • Question:  When I press the leads against "in" and "return", what should be happening?   Answer:  You should be looking for a reading and if all the values of all your settings are the same then all your readings should be the same. (Tip: Make certain that all the screws are screwed down very tight to make sure the connections can happen accurately.)
  • Question:  When checking the output, where should the black and red leads go?   Answer:  Black should be on common and red (or positive) should be on voltage out.
  • Question:  What is important about checking the outputs?   Answer:  It is important to make sure that the output can be on or off whatever value that you put in it.
  • Question:  When you have the CPU in run mode, what should happen?   Answer:  The Enabled LED should come on to let you know the block is enabled. This also means that the port is communicating. It lets you know the block is working properly and if you want to, you can force the inputs and outputs off or on using Proficy Machine Edition.
  • Question:  What would indicate something is wrong with my IC660BBA020?   Answer:  If you power it up and it doesn't have any lights on at all, then your IC660BBA020 may need repair

For more information on the IC660BBA020 Voltage/Current Analog I/O Block of the GE Fanuc Genius I/O Series, please see the Datasheet User-Manual.

IC660BBA020 is a Phase B GE Genius block and is compatible with all GENIUS supported PLC systems. The earlier version- IC660CBA020 is a Phase A GE Genius Block and is only compatible with Series Six and Series Five PLCs.

The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660BBA020K) indicates the revision. Revision K and later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore need the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
