Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC630MDL353 output module is a GE Series Three output module. This output module is commonly used with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) which incorporate modern designs, and it also depends on microprocessor technology to run properly. Once the PLC processes the logic functions from the input module, it sends the functions to the IC630MDL353 output module to control application processes or machines. The GE Fanuc IC630MDL353 output module converts signal levels within the PLC to the required levels to control field devices. Also, the IC630MDL353 output module by GE Fanuc is optically isolated from the internal circuitry of the Programmable Logic Controller. This optical isolation is essential because it protects the Programmable Logic Controller from electrical and magnetic noise and interferences caused by the field wiring.

 

The GE Fanuc IC630MDL353 output module comes with a modular design which makes it capable of handling a number of signals. The field wiring for the IC630MDL353 output module is typically made to a socket-type board which is in the front of the module. This board can be detached easily, which makes it easy to remove or replace the IC630MDL353 module without causing any disruptions to the field wiring. There are baseplates or base units available which are used to hold the IC630MDL353 module. A typical base unit comprises the programmer or CPU, and it is daisy-chain connected to a second base unit by using an I/O expander cable. In case an extra base unit is needed, it can be connected to the second base unit via another I/O expander cable.
