Technical Information

The General Electric (GE) Fanuc IC630MDL302 Series Three PLC Input Module is a 24 Volts DC input module for the GE Series Three PLC system. The GE Series Three PLC system incorporates the latest technology in industrial automation by using microprocessor control architecture. A standard Series Three PLC system consists of a base unit which can accommodate either 4, 6, or 8 I/O modules, a CPU/programmer module, and a terminal base for all field wiring. The biggest possible configuration setup with the IC630MDL302 Input Module consists of 3 base units interconnected with expander cables and it is capable of accommodating up to 400 I/O points.

 

The IC630MDL302 Input Module offers 32 input circuits, and each is built to receive “2 state” discrete input signals from field devices such as switches, pushbuttons, relay contacts, and sensors. This module converts these discrete signals to a digital signal for the processor to use. All the input channels have a shared common, and a 24 Volts DC user-supplied power source is required for operation. The IC630MDL302 Input Module has a maximum backplane current draw of 50 milliamps at 5.0 Volts DC and an external voltage requirement range of 20 to 29 Volts DC. The IC630MDL302 Input Module is installed on the GE Series Three base rack, and it occupies a single slot on the base unit backplane. A removable terminal board on the base unit provides a socket type terminal for the installation of the IC630MDL302 Input Module and other Series Three I/O modules. This terminal board also allows for the easy removal and replacement of I/O modules without disturbing the field wiring.
